Return of the Prelude Marks a Stylish Comeback

Among the most notable announcements is the revival of the iconic Prelude coupe. The model, which is slated to re-enter showrooms in North America, Europe, and Japan later this year, will return as a hybrid.

The updated version will include a sporty “S+ Shift” mode, giving drivers a manual transmission-like feel. Honda is reportedly planning a mid-cycle upgrade for this model around 2028.

As part of its hybrid expansion, several popular nameplates are expected to transition away from internal combustion engines.

Industry sources indicate that the 12th-generation Civic will debut in 2028, building on a minor update delivered to the current model in 2024.

Similarly, the next-generation CR-V including regional versions like the Dongfeng CR-V and GAC Honda Breeze for China is scheduled to launch in 2027.

Accord and Odyssey to Continue With Hybrid Integration

Honda’s well-known Accord sedan remains part of its global portfolio, particularly due to ongoing demand in China. The 11th-generation version, which launched in 2022, will soon receive aesthetic and functional updates.

A comprehensive redesign is expected by late 2027, with continued production in both American and Chinese plants.

The Odyssey minivan, originally launched in 2017 and refreshed in subsequent years, is due for a full redesign by 2028.

The new version will likely phase out the traditional V6 engine in favour of a hybrid system, aligning with Honda’s broader emissions-reduction goals.
