Islamabad, Dec 18: Honor has officially launched its Honor GT, entering the gaming smartphone market. The device is designed to deliver flagship-level performance, with powerful hardware, an impressive display, and AI-driven features. Aimed at gamers and power users, the Honor GT blends aesthetics with practical functionality, positioning itself as a strong competitor in the growing gaming smartphone sector.
Design and Display
The Honor GT features a sleek, lightweight design, measuring 161mm x 74.2mm x 7.7mm and weighing just 196g. Its flat design with rounded corners provides a modern, functional look, while the rectangular rear camera module includes two lenses, an LED flash, and bold “GT” branding, highlighting its gaming focus. The device boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 2664 x 1200 FHD+ resolution.
The screen supports 1.07 billion colors and the DCI-P3 color gamut. With a peak brightness of 4000 nits (local) and 1200 nits (global), the display remains visible in bright conditions. Honor also incorporates eye-protection features like 3840Hz PWM dimming, low blue light technology, and adaptive dimming to reduce strain during prolonged use.
Internals and Software
The Honor GT is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, ensuring smooth performance for demanding tasks like gaming and multitasking. It also offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, providing ample power and capacity for heavy users. To maintain optimal performance during extended gaming sessions, the phone includes a “3D Natural Circulation Cooling System” to manage heat. The device runs on MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15, providing an AI-enhanced user experience.
Camera
The Honor GT features a dual-camera setup on the rear, with a 50MP wide-angle camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 12MP ultra-wide macro lens with autofocus. The rear cameras support 4K video recording and include modes like AI photography, night mode, portrait mode, slow motion, and time-lapse. For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 16MP front-facing wide-angle camera with 1080p video recording and electronic image stabilization (EIS).
Battery and Pricing
The Honor GT is available in three colors: Phantom Black, Ice Crystal White, and Aurora Green. The base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 2,199 yuan (approximately USD 301), while the higher-end variant with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at 3,299 yuan (about USD 452). Other configurations, including options with 512GB storage, are also available. The phone is currently available for pre-order in China and will officially go on sale on December 24th.
