The most prestigious cricket event in the world will be played in southern Africa once again, with the Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirming the Host Cities of the 2027 World Cup. A total of 44 of the 54 games will be played in eight venues in South Africa with the remaining games divided in Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The cities listed here in South Africa are Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, East London and Paarl with dense pageantry of cricket. It is a homecoming to local fans. In 2003, South Africa hosted the ICC Men World Cup and 2009 the Champions Trophy. The country has been the recent host of the ICC Women T20 World Cup in 2023.

South Africa has the added advantage of having hosted the inaugural ICC Men T20 World Cup in 2007, an event which has gone down as one of the major events in the global spectrum of the sport.

In the case of Pakistan, the introduction evokes a sense of missile-type confrontations on African soil- their 2003 World Cup tournament to the crushing defeat at the 2007 T20 World Cup in Johannesburg. They will be monitored in their adjustability to the South African pitches with a fresh crop of talent likely to be availed by 2027.

Not only are the Host Cities of 2027 World Cup sides celebrating the cricketing tradition of the region but they are also a platform upon which the next generation of global stars are bound to emerge and write history.
