Islamabad, Nov 27: Huawei Unveils Mate 70 Series, Advanced Cameras and Enhanced Displays Lead the Way. At a Shenzhen event, Huawei unveiled the Mate 70 and Mate 70 Pro, two models in the new Mate 70 series. These two models offer slight enhancements in terms of display, cameras, and design.
Display and Design
Huawei continues to prioritize build quality and longevity with the Mate 70 series. However, the Mate 70 stands out from the rest of the lineup because to its flat frame and slender 7.8mm design. Both have an IP69 rating, which protects against dust and water, and second-generation Kunlun Glass, which has basalt fiber to withstand drops for added durability.
The Mate 70 Pro has a slightly larger 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display than the Mate 70, which has a 6.7-inch display. Both versions maintain their 2,500 nits peak brightness, 1-120 Hz variable refresh rate, and FHD+ resolution, guaranteeing sharpness and seamless operation even in direct sunlight. The hues Spruce Green, Hyacinth Purple, Snow White, and Obsidian Black are available for the Huawei Mate 70 and 70 Pro.
Software and Internals
Although Huawei has not disclosed the specifics of the chipset, it is generally assumed that the series makes use of the 6nm Kirin 9100 processor. HarmonyOS 4.3 is the operating system on both devices; HarmonyOS Next is anticipated. The fingerprint scanner on the side also functions as a multipurpose button, providing extra features like flash control and gesture-based AI assistant activation.
The camera
Both phones have a 40MP ultrawide sensor and a 50MP primary camera with variable aperture (f/1.4-f/4.0) with OIS. While the Mate 70 Pro has a 48MP periscope lens with 4x optical zoom, the Mate 70 features a 12MP periscope camera with 5.5x optical zoom.
One important component is the new spectrum imaging sensor, which has 1.5 million multi-spectral channels and is intended to record more color data. Natural skin tones, enhanced color accuracy, and better shadow management especially in difficult lighting conditions are the outcomes of this.
Pricing and Battery
With 50W wireless and 66W wired charging, the Mate 70 is powered by a 5,300mAh battery. To accommodate users who need quicker recharge periods, the 70 Pro marginally boosts the capacity to 5,500mAh and supports both 80W wireless and 100W cable charging.
While the Mate 70 Pro starts at CNY 6,499 ($895), the Mate 70 starts at CNY 5,499 ($757). Pre-orders for both versions are currently open in China, and delivery is scheduled to begin on December 4. Regarding worldwide availability, there is currently no confirmation.
