Sindh Human Rights regional office has been launched in Qasimabad, Hyderabad division, in order to augment monitoring, grievance redressal, and human rights implementation within the province. The introduction is indicative of a firm conviction of the government in protecting the rights of the citizens in accordance with constitutional and international principles.

During this ceremony, the Advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh, Rajveer Singh Sodha emphasized that the office will hasten the speed in handling human rights complaints. He also declared that a similar office will be opened in Mirpurkhas and then other divisional offices in Sindh would be opened. We are seeking to institutionalize provincial-wide human rights protection system, he said.

Director Human Rights Sindh, Agha Fakhar Hussain, informed the media about the functions of the office, noting that it coordinates with civil society, NGOs and departments in the relevant government. The office will also act as an important point of reporting, monitoring and resolving human rights action in Hyderabad and also in other parts of the state.

Formation of this Sindh Human Rights regional office not just enhances governance, but also gives business and partnership opportunities to organizations that deal with social impact, legal consultancy, and civil rights advocacy. This move would provide accountability and transparency, which would strengthen Sindh determination to the human rights as well as the establishment of commercial partnership with the NGOs and other interested parties.
