The Women Cricket World Cup 2025 will make history as the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that, for the first time in the tournament’s 50-over format, all matches will be officiated by women umpires and referees.

The 13th edition of the World Cup will take place in India and Sri Lanka from September 30, featuring 14 women umpires, including well-known names such as Claire Polosak, Jacqueline Williams, Sue Redfern, Lauren Agenbag and Kim Cotton. According to the ICC, Polosak, Williams and Redfern are entering their third World Cup while Agenbag and Cotton are returning for their second.

Alongside the umpires, the panel will also include four female match referees: Trudy Anderson, Shandré Fritz, GS Lakshmi and Michell Pereira. Each of them brings valuable experience to the tournament, marking another milestone for women’s cricket.
