Islamabad, Aug 15, 2025: Imad Wasim who has represented Pakistan as an all-rounder in the past has been named as the new captain of the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons ahead of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, which will start this Friday. The franchise announced about the news on their social pages with the help of an animated post about Captain America.
The experienced cricketer had played seven seasons in the CPL and played in 64 matches. In this duration, he took 70 wickets with a fabulous average of 20.22 and scored 802 runs with two fifties. Imad described the captaincy as an honour and vowed to give the supporters what they deserved following the 2024 poor showing by the team.
He said that he was not worried about the experience mixed with form in the team with Rahkeem Cornwall, veteran Shakib Al Hasan, and in-form pacer Jayden Seales. But he emphasized that chemistry would decide who will make it this year.

Speaking of the future, Imad Wasim replied that winning the trophy would be the most important task ever and not by being the best runner-up because history is made by the winners not by the second position. Antigua and Barbuda Falcons will kick start their CPL 2025 campaign against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the curtain-raiser on Friday.
