Islamabad, Aug 24: The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has verified that all scheduled exams will go forward as scheduled, even with the holiday.
Exam schedules will not alter, and students must show up for their tests in accordance with the original schedule, according to Lahore Board Examinations Controller Zahid Mian.
In order to prevent any interruptions from the sizable crowds anticipated for the Urs celebrations, he recommended students taking exams at locations close to the Data Darbar to arrive at least two hours before the exam time.
Commissioner Lahore has issued additional directives to guarantee that exams are administered without hiccups on the vacation. These steps are meant to make it easier for staff and kids to get to the testing locations, even with the anticipated rise in traffic and neighborhood activity.
The 981st Annual Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh will be celebrated on Monday, August 26, with a public holiday declared by the Punjab government on August 23. A notification was also sent out by the Department of Services and General Administration (Welfare Wing).
All government offices in Lahore, with the exception of the Punjab Civil Secretariat, its Attached Departments, and Regional Offices, will be closed on this district-level public holiday.
August 24-26 is the annual three-day Urs celebration honoring the esteemed saint Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh. For the purpose of lavishly preparing langar for guests and other events, the Auqaf Department has been granted Rs 13.5 million.
The secretary stated special security measures that include the police department installing 18 LCD screens, 144 security and closed-circuit cameras, and a separate control room to guarantee pilgrim safety.
