Islamabad, Sep 12: Bngladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday, 12 September announced the squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against India.
Two red-ball matches will be played in India by the 16-person traveling team, and there have been some shocks in the lineup. Due to an injury, Shoriful Islam has been left off the roster, but Jaker Ali, who has never played a cap, has been added.
Najmul Hussain Shanto will remain the team captain for the two Test matches, which are scheduled for Chennai from September 19–23 and Kanpur from September 27–October 1.
In their last assignment, Bangladesh won a vital series victory on home soil over Pakistan, which gave them more confidence.
The team that beat Pakistan is precisely the same; the only difference is that Jaker Ali took the place of the seasoned Shoriful Islam. After their victory over Pakistan, the Bangla Tigers surged to fourth place in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 rankings.
