Westminster, July 19, 2025: The second one-day international (ODI) between India women and England women teams at the Lord’s faced interruptions due to persistent rain.
The England women team, batting second, are tasked with reaching a target of 144 runs within 29 overs against the Indian women team. They aim to level the series after India gained the upper hand in the first match.

India’s innings concluded at 143 runs for the loss of eight wickets. The Indian batting lineup was anchored by Smriti Mandhana, who chased 42 runs.
Similarly, Deepti Sharma’s unbeaten 30 helped steer the innings after early setbacks.

Meanwhile, the English bowlers, led by the graceful Sophie Ecclestone with three wickets, kept the hosts putting up a strong performance throughout.
After winning the toss, England women team opted to bowl first, aiming to disrupt the Indian women team’s rhythm before chasing a modest total within the reduced overs.
Openers Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones helped lay a solid foundation with 17 runs without losing a wicket so far.

With more rainfall predicted, weather conditions will play a far bigger role in the outcome of the match then the players’ performance.
India women team are hoping to secure a series victory on their former colonial master’s soil for the fifth time in a row.
