Islamabad, Aug 12, 2025: The Indian women cricketers team is confident to shatter the last wall and win its first ICC Women World Cup title this year, failing on two occasions previously. The 13th edition of the 50-over international tournament starts on September 30 and the co-hosts will kick off their campaign against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru.
The women in blue have made two appearances in the ODI World Cup finals and lost both by a small margin including a devastating nine-run loss to England at Lord in 2017. The world cup match-winning captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who scored gritty 51 in that final will lead the national team in the high-profile event for the first time.
“It is always special to play in your home. This time we are going to give all our hundred percent and hopefully we will be able to give this match to all our fans, who are waiting to hear this”, Kaur said at an ICC event in Mumbai.

The team carries a lot of confidence having just won a series in England 3-2 in T20s and 2-1 in ODIs. Star opener Smriti Mandhana brought out the changing culture at the camp as she explained that the team understands where they need to grind hard, and how to perform on the pitch.
The fixtures in Pakistan will be done on neutral venue included Colombo arrangement of multi-nation events. The last is to be played on date November 2 in Bengaluru or Colombo depending on the progress being made by Pakistan. Indian women team hopes to win the wait this time around at home.
