Islamabad, July 21, 2025: In a tense mid-air episode on Sunday evening, an IndiGo flight bound for Hyderabad was forced to make an emergency landing back in Tirupati after a suspected technical fault disrupted its journey shortly after takeoff.
The flight, operating as IndiGo 6E 6591, had just departed Tirupati Airport when onboard systems indicated a possible glitch. In response, the pilots followed standard safety protocols, circling in the air for nearly 40 minutes to assess the situation before safely returning to base at 7:55 PM.
According to initial statements from airline representatives, the return was carried out as a precautionary safety measure, and no immediate threat was posed to passengers or crew. The airline assured that all passengers were rebooked on a separate flight to Hyderabad without further delay.
“No injuries or emergencies were reported onboard. The crew handled the situation with utmost professionalism, and all safety standards were maintained,” an IndiGo spokesperson confirmed.

An internal probe has been launched to determine the exact cause of the technical malfunction. Aviation regulators are also expected to review the report for compliance and preventive actions.
