Islamabad, Dec 10: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has been given further authority, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Information Technology.
The announcement states that the National Cyber Crimes and Investigation Agency’s authority has been transferred to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing and that the laws governing it have been repealed.
The National Cyber Crimes and Investigation Agency’s legislation were abolished because of the agency’s insufficient structure, according to sources who spoke to ProPakistani. The agency’s laws will be restored after the structure is finished.
The power to combat social media offenses has been given to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing. To combat social media crimes, the National Cyber Crimes and Investigation Agency was founded in 2023.
