Islamabad, July 17, 2025: Football Club Cincinnati extended its lead after half time with two goals from midfielder Evander sealing the result at 3-0.
Inter Miami Club de Futbol (11 wins, 4 losses, 5 draws- 38 points) saw its six-match Major League Soccer undefeated streak come to an end with a 3-0 defeat to Football Club Cincinnati at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The hosts initiated the scoring in the 16th minute through Gerardo Valenzuela after a strong start that saw Inter Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari blockan early chance from Cincinnati’s forward Kei Kamara. Ustari was later forced off due to injury, with Rocco Rios Novo coming on in his place.

Lionel Messi, who entered the match in exceptional form after earning Major League Soccer Player of the Match day honours for Match days 23 and 24 came closest to scoring for Miami in first-half stoppage time but his left-footed effort was saved by Cincinnati’s goalkeeper.
Despite the result, Messi continues his historic run having scored 11 goals in his last six league matches. His back to back braces against New England Revolution and Nashville Soccer Club marked five consecutive multi goal games an extraordinary feat in Major League Soccer history.

Inter Miami began with Oscar Ustari in goal and a backline of Marcelo Weigandt, Maximiliano Falcon, Tomas Aviles and Jordi Alba. Sergio Busquets and Benjamin Cremaschi started in central midfield, supported on the wings by Tadeo Allende and Telasco Segovia. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez led the frontline.
The match also saw the return of defender Gonzalo Lujan and midfielders Yannick Bright and David Ruiz to the squad after recovering from injury. Inter Miami will continue its road trip with a visit to the New York Red Bulls at Sports Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey.
