Mohsin Naqvi, the federal interior minister, declared on Friday that buying gasoline-powered motorcycles in Islamabad is now prohibited. At a meeting to assess ongoing development projects at the Capital Development Authority (CDA), a decision was made.
Naqvi stressed the significance of adopting environmental measures to turn Islamabad into a world-class city. In order to lessen environmental pollution, he gave the CDA instructions to solely buy electric bikes going forward. Additionally, the people of Islamabad will be served by environmentally friendly electric buses.
The gathering also showcased advancements in a number of projects, such as the Federal Secretariat renovation, the Diplomatic Enclave improvements, and the implementation of smart parking options. Naqvi also declared the start of works on the F-9 Park Chowk overpass and the Serena Chowk underpass projects.
The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) will hand over its responsibilities to the CDA in order to provide emergency services that meet international standards. After being put on hold for 17 years, the Islamabad Model Jail project is finally moving quickly, and the first phase should be finished on time.
The H-16 sector has finished the process of allocating land for the construction of a health tower. Naqvi thanked the CDA team for their record tax collection as the conference came to an end and emphasized the need to improve institutional assets beyond selling land and plots.
