Islamabad, 11 Apr, 2025: A Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Dhaka had to perform an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport late Thursday night after a female passenger onboard experienced a sudden and critical medical condition, confirmed aviation authorities. The emergency landing at Karachi was carried out as a precautionary step to potentially save a life mid-air.
The aircraft, a Boeing 737 designated as flight FZ 501, had departed from Dubai International Airport and was flying towards Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
While passing through Indian airspace, a Bangladeshi woman onboard suddenly became severely unwell.

Though specific medical details have not been made public, the seriousness of her condition prompted the flight crew to act swiftly.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, the captain immediately contacted air traffic control in Karachi, the closest international airport along the route, seeking urgent clearance for an emergency landing on humanitarian grounds.
The clearance was granted without delay, and the aircraft safely landed on the runway of Jinnah International Airport.
A specialized medical team from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) was pre-alerted and waiting on the ground.
Upon the aircraft’s arrival, the team quickly boarded the plane and administered first aid and emergency medical support to the patient.
Despite efforts to stabilize her condition at the airport, her health continued to deteriorate. Recognizing the urgency, she was immediately transported via ambulance to a private medical facility in Karachi for further treatment.
