Islamabad, Sep 11: Chairman of Asia Pak Investment Shehryar declared that one of the Independent Power Producers had lowered its electricity rates. This was disclosed on Wednesday in Karachi at a news briefing.
According to Shehryar Chishti, the reason for the price reduction is because customers are finding it difficult to pay for electricity. He said that the nation’s power crisis has gotten worse and that lower electricity costs are necessary.
Shehryar Chishti highlighted the need for energy rates to be reduced for the sake of consumer affordability and national wellbeing. He made the point that all IPPs had lowered the rate of return by 11% in 2021, and that comparable price reductions for energy ought to be applied once more.
There have been occasions when Imran Khan, the CEO of IPP, has declared that the company will willingly lower the return on equity from 18% to 10%.
