Islamabad, Feb 6: Iran celebrated the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution with a grand ceremony in Pakistan, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between the two neighboring nations. The event, attended by distinguished guests, highlighted the historical significance of the revolution and its lasting impact on Iran’s political, economic, and technological advancements.
During the gathering, Iran’s representative expressed deep appreciation for the presence of key officials, including H.E. Muhammad Aurangzeb, who attended as the Chief Guest. He emphasized that the Islamic Revolution introduced a new political discourse based on independence, freedom, and sovereignty. Despite facing sanctions and external pressures, Iran has made remarkable progress in fields such as science, technology, medicine, nanotechnology, stem cell research, and aerospace.
The Iranian official underscored the importance of fostering strong ties with Pakistan, reiterating that relations with neighboring countries remain a cornerstone of Iran’s foreign policy. He noted that the Supreme Leader has consistently advocated for deepening Iran-Pakistan relations, which have been reinforced through economic cooperation and strategic initiatives. In the past year, high-level delegations from both nations have engaged in diplomatic exchanges, reflecting the growing momentum of bilateral relations. Notable visits include those of the late President Ebrahim Raisi to Pakistan, as well as Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Ishaq Dar to Iran. Other key figures, including Mr. Araghchi and General Bagheri, have also played an active role in strengthening ties.
Given the geographical proximity and complementary economies of the two nations, Iran sees vast opportunities for strategic cooperation with Pakistan. With Iran’s abundant oil and gas reserves and Pakistan’s rich agricultural and livestock resources, both economies align naturally, paving the way for deeper integration and mutually beneficial trade.
Iran has also voiced strong support for enhancing transportation networks, such as the ITI rail route, and expanding port and infrastructure collaboration.
