Islamabbad, June 9, 2025: Tehran has claimed possession of highly sensitive Israeli intelligence files, allegedly exposing confidential details about Israel’s nuclear capabilities, diplomatic relations with the United States and Europe, and military infrastructure.

Iran’s Intelligence Minister, Esmail Khatib, told national media on Sunday that the collection of documents is so extensive it could significantly enhance Iran’s strategic leverage. While no evidence has yet been publicly presented, Khatib described the material as a “treasure trove,” suggesting it could reshape regional power dynamics.

Israel, which has long followed a policy of ambiguity regarding its nuclear arsenal, has not issued an official response. Reports indicate that several Israelis have been arrested recently for alleged espionage on behalf of Tehran, but it remains unclear whether these arrests are tied to the leaked documents.

Khatib emphasized the covert nature of the operation: “Transferring this amount of data required intense planning and confidentiality. The process was long and involved complex security protocols.” According to Iranian state media, thousands of pages of intelligence have now reached secure facilities inside Iran.

Cyber Espionage and Shadow Wars

This development appears to be the latest move in the ongoing covert war between Iran and Israel. The two adversaries have engaged in years of shadow conflict — from assassinations of nuclear scientists to cyberattacks on sensitive infrastructure.

In April 2024, limited military exchanges took place after Iran retaliated against Israel for bombing its embassy in Syria. Though a wider conflict was narrowly avoided, tensions have remained at a boiling point.

The leak also follows last year’s reported hacking of an Israeli nuclear research center, though it is not yet confirmed whether the current trove of documents is connected to that breach.

Rising Pressure Over Iran’s Nuclear Program

This revelation arrives at a time when Iran’s nuclear ambitions are under renewed global scrutiny. A recent International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report accused Tehran of conducting undeclared nuclear activities. The UN watchdog’s Board of Governors is expected to censure Iran later this week.

Despite repeated denials of any intent to build atomic weapons, Iranian officials insist their nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes. Yet, U.S. officials continue to press Iran to scale back its uranium enrichment — a demand Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei outright rejected last week.

“The Americans have no right to dictate the future of Iran’s nuclear programme,” Khamenei said. “We will not abandon enrichment just to please Washington.”

Nuclear Talks Face Stalemate

Talks between Iran and the U.S., mediated through Oman and Italy, are reportedly stuck. Iran’s parliament speaker confirmed on Sunday that Washington’s latest proposal fails to include the lifting of sanctions — a key demand from Tehran.

With Iran vowing to unveil the leaked Israeli nuclear documents soon, the geopolitical stakes in the Middle East have never been higher. Analysts warn that the fallout from this intelligence leak could inflame regional instability and complicate efforts to revive a nuclear deal.
