Islamabad, May 8, 2025: Iran Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi called for restraint between India and Pakistan upon arriving in New Delhi on Thursday.  

The visit takes place in the shadow of escalating conflict between India and Pakistan.

“We hope that India and Pakistan will prevent the escalation of tension in the region,” Araqchi said making same appeals he made during his visit to Islamabad on Monday.

“Our region needs peace, especially to expand economic cooperation between regional countries, and we hope this will happen,” the foreign minister added.

Furthermore, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Aljubeir also made an unannounced visit in India today.

Aljubeir held talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar with a focus on de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

“Shared India’s perspectives on firmly countering terrorism,” he said while emphasizing the importance of maintaining regional stability and security.

However, in a new turn of events, a fresh wave of suspected Indian drone has raised alarm across multiple Pakistani cities, with one civilian confirmed dead and several other incidents reported over the last 48 hours.

Pakistan’s air defense systems have successfully intercepted several drones attempting to enter or operate within sensitive regions, further heightening tensions along the India-Pakistan border.
