Islamabad, Dec 11: In a statement on Wednesday, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, accused the United States and Israel of orchestrating the Syrian crisis, claiming there is clear evidence of their involvement. Speaking to a gathering in Tehran, Khamenei also suggested that a neighboring country, likely Turkey, played a role in the conflict.
Khamenei strongly rejected claims that the resistance front in the region was weakening, emphasizing that pressure only strengthens it. He predicted that Syria would eventually be liberated by its youth, and that U.S. influence in the region would diminish through the efforts of the resistance.
“There should be no doubt that what happened in Syria was plotted in the command rooms of the United States and Israel. We have evidence for this,” said Khamenei. He further stated that Turkey was likely involved in the crisis but stressed that the primary responsibility lies with the U.S. and Israel.
The Supreme Leader dismissed reports of a weakening resistance front, asserting that the resistance would only grow stronger in the face of adversity. He emphasized, “The more you push, the stronger it becomes; the more you commit crimes, the more motivated it becomes.” Khamenei expressed confidence that the resistance would expand across the region.
Khamenei also responded to concerns that a weakened resistance could lead to Iran’s downfall, clarifying that such analysis was misguided. “Resistance is a faith; it is a thought; it is a heartfelt and definite decision,” he stated, reaffirming that the resistance would not be broken by pressure but would instead grow stronger.
In addressing the Syrian conflict, Khamenei acknowledged the divisions among militant groups, each pursuing its own agenda. He predicted that the “zealous Syrian youth” would ultimately reclaim Syria from these groups and from foreign forces seeking to extend their influence, including the U.S. “The occupied areas of Syria will be liberated by the zealous Syrian youth,” he affirmed, expressing certainty that the U.S. would eventually be expelled from the region.
Khamenei concluded with a strong assertion that, through the power of resistance, the U.S. would not secure its foothold in the region. “By God’s grace and power, the US will also be expelled from the region by the resistance front,” he declared.
