These Well-Being Missions are designed as small, interactive challenges that reward users with digital badges. From viewing screen time insights to setting gentle reminders, the app nudges users to engage with tools that promote mindfulness and digital awareness. But here’s the twist — all these tasks are completed within the app, meaning users spend more time on TikTok under the pretense of improving their digital well-being.

TikTok claims the feature is part of its ongoing effort to support mental health and mindful app usage. Upcoming updates will introduce guided breathing exercises, relaxing soundtracks, and reflection-based tasks. However, instead of pushing users to disconnect, the missions subtly encourage continuous in-app participation — a smart but somewhat contradictory approach.
