Islamabad, Aug 9, 2025: Islamabad International Airport will temporarily suspend flight operations on selected days in August to accommodate rehearsals for Pakistan’s Independence Day parade, the Pakistan Airport Authority has confirmed.
These scheduled pauses in arrivals and departures aim to ensure smooth security and event preparations.
A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the authority states that flights will be paused from 8 pm to 10 pm on August 11, 12, and 13. Airlines have been instructed to avoid scheduling flights during these specific hours.
Additionally, flight operations will be halted for several hours on August 6 to 9 and August 11 to 14, including a daytime suspension between 11 am and 1 pm to support parade practices.

Passengers are advised to check their flight schedules carefully ahead of travel to prevent any inconvenience. Airlines are expected to modify their timetables and keep travelers informed about any adjustments.
These temporary flight stoppages are part of the preparations for Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day celebrations, which will take place in Islamabad with full ceremonial events.
