Islamabad, Aug 7, 2025: The Islamabad administration has once again enforced a strict ban on the sale and use of plastic horns (baaja) across the federal capital. In a public notice issued on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon stated that violators will face legal consequences.
The ban comes as part of an ongoing effort to curb public nuisance and maintain peace during public gatherings, national events, and celebrations. “There will be zero tolerance for anyone selling or using plastic horns in Islamabad,” Memon posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
This isn’t the first time such a restriction has been imposed. A similar plastic horn ban in Islamabad was enforced during August last year to control noise pollution and ensure a peaceful environment.
Officials from the district administration have been directed to monitor markets, street vendors, and event venues to ensure compliance. The public has also been urged to cooperate and report any violations to local authorities.

The Islamabad administration has made it clear: this ban is not symbolic—legal action, including fines and confiscation, will follow any breach of the order.
