New SOPs have been issued by the Food Authority for restaurants and food points in the federal capital, Islamabad.
Wearing caps has been made mandatory for restaurant chefs and waiters. According to the SOPs, all staff members who handle food must use safety caps.
The use of caps has been made compulsory keeping in view hygiene standards. In case of violation, the food point/restaurant will be sealed immediately. Citizens of Islamabad are urged to report any restaurant staff found not wearing caps. The Director of Food Authority has instructed teams to conduct inspections in various areas.

Food Authority teams will carry out surprise inspections of different food points/restaurants to ensure the implementation of the SOPs. Citizens are requested to support us in taking action against restaurants that violate the rules.
