Islamabad, Aug 6: The Islamabad Deputy Commissioner has declared a major campaign to discourage the use of plastic shopping bags, which are a major source of pollution.Eight squads have been constituted by DC Islamabad to carry out this operation, according to Express News.
Under the direction of all Islamabad Assistant Commissioners, these teams would carry out actions aimed at discouraging the use of plastic bags in different parts of the city.Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz underlined that it is our common duty to minimize the usage of polyethylene bags, which exacerbate environmental pollution.In addition, he urged the populace to back the district government in its campaign against plastic bags.
