Islamabad, May 22, 2025: In preparation for Eidul Azha 2025, authorities in Islamabad and Lahore have unveiled designated cattle market locations to ensure a smooth and organized animal trade.
The move aims to ease public movement, curb illegal trading, and maintain cleanliness in urban zones as the festive season approaches.
Islamabad’s Five Designated Bakra Mandi Sites Finalized
To streamline sacrificial animal purchases this Eid, the Islamabad Capital Territory administration has finalized five official cattle markets. These locations were selected to minimize disruption in residential areas while accommodating the expected surge in livestock and foot traffic.
The decision was made in a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, attended by assistant commissioners and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) officials.
The DC emphasized the need for early preparations and announced a strict crackdown on unauthorized cattle sale points across the capital.

- Lehtrar Road
- Islamabad Expressway
Authorities have assured that strict hygiene protocols and traffic management plans will be implemented to maintain public order during the pre-Eid rush.

Lahore Gears Up with 6 Key Locations for Eidul Azha 2025
Meanwhile, Lahore’s district administration has also issued a detailed plan, confirming five temporary cattle markets and one permanent market for Eidul Azha 2025. The goal is to prevent chaotic street trading while offering buyers secure and accessible spots to purchase animals.
According to the city officials, the permanent cattle market at Shahpur Kanjran will remain operational throughout the Eid season, while additional sites will cater to growing demand across different city zones.
