Islamabad, May 24, 2025: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that the ticket for the Islamabad Metro Bus Service has been increased from Rs. 50 to Rs. 100. The new fare will be implemented from May 26, 2025.
The revised fare applies to the Orange Line Metro Bus as well as the Green, Blue, and Electric Vehicle feeder services. A public notice has been issued informing citizens of the change.
According to the notification:
- The Orange Line Metro Bus route from Faizabad to N-5 will now cost Rs. 100.
- The Green Line Feeder Route from PIMS to Bhara Kahu will also be Rs. 100.
- The Blue Line Feeder Route from PIMS to Gulberg Terminal is set at Rs. 100.
- The Electric Vehicle Feeder Routes within Islamabad will now charge Rs. 100.
Previously, all of these services had a flat fare of Rs. 50 per journey.

The Islamabad metro bus ticket price hike has led to frustration among daily commuters, many of whom depend on the Metro Bus for affordable transport. Several citizens have expressed concern over the sudden increase and called on authorities to reconsider.

The authorities have stated that the revision is in line with rising operational costs, though no detailed justification has been released publicly.
