During the visit, officials shared that the new facility spans roughly 133,729 square feet and will have the capacity to accommodate more than 1,000 vehicles simultaneously.
According to CDA representatives, the project aims to address long-standing urban mobility issues and will serve not only the Secretariat’s employees but also individuals working in or visiting adjacent government departments.
New Parking Plaza is being described by city officials as a key part of a broader urban improvement strategy for Islamabad.
Project Seen as Model for Infrastructure Innovation
Chairman Randhawa reportedly emphasized that the parking structure reflects CDA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public amenities and creating practical solutions to city management challenges.
He referred to the development as a model project that demonstrates efficiency, foresight, and responsiveness to public needs.
Authorities explained that construction is being carried out simultaneously across multiple sections of the site, a decision intended to accelerate the overall timeline and reduce disruptions.
This multi-phase approach underlines the agency’s focus on operational speed and quality delivery.
Wider Benefits for Public Sector Access and Mobility
The New Parking Plaza is expected to significantly ease the daily commuting experience for thousands of individuals who frequent the Secretariat area.
