Islamabad, June 19, 2025: Islamabad Police has came up with a new Android app which helps citizens check if their taxi ride is safe and properly registered. The app let users scan a QR code in the taxi and find out quickly if the driver is listed in the Islamabad Police records or not.
Officials said that this step is taken to stop unverified and illegal taxi services in the capital, and to make public transport more safe, especially for regular travellers and visitors.
By using this app, people can scan the cab’s QR code to see registration info, check the driver’s photo, and confirm if it’s same person who is driving. If there is any mismatch or the driver is not verified, the app has an option to report it directly to Islamabad Police.

Main Features of the App
- QR Code Scanning: Riders can scan the code inside registered taxis to confirm if the car and the driver are approved.
- Driver Check: The app shows driver’s picture so people can match it with the person driving. If it don’t match, users are told not to take the ride.
- Emergency Option: If there’s anything wrong or the ride is not verified, people can use emergency button to alert the police fast.
To use the app, people have to sign up first with their email and personal details. After logging in with phone number and password, they can scan the QR before starting the ride. If all is okay, they must press the “Proceed” button, which tells Islamabad Police that a registered ride is in use.

Police officials request all users to use this app every time they hire a taxi. They said safety comes first and even a small doubt should be reported. They also said people should always check if the driver’s face match with the photo in app.
This move has been welcomed by public and got good response, who thinks it’s a nice step for making travel more safe in the city.
