Islamabad to Welcome New Public Library, Safari Park & Golf Course

ISLAMABAD: (22 May, 2025): An important meeting was held at CDA Headquarters Islamabad, chaired by Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defence. The meeting was attended by Member Administration, Member Estate, Member Environment, DG Environment, DG Resources, architects and other senior officers of CDA.

During the meeting, briefing was given regarding establishment of modern and a state-of-the-art public library in F-9 Park for citizens who are interested in book reading, along with walk and projects of theme and Safari Park Parks, Golf Course. A briefing was given about the design and associated facilities for modern public library.

Chairman CDA stated that the libraries are the best place for acquiring knowledge, and information. He said that knowledge-seeking citizens will be able to easily benefit from CDA’s facilities as the importance and usefulness of libraries is an undeniable fact throughout the world. During the meeting, directives were issued to have best of public library’s design, so that it may pass test of the process, construction of library at F-9 will be made having international standard state-of-the-art public library equipped with all digital facilities. Chairman CDA directed that the public library should be equipped with all modern amenities so that visiting citizens can enjoy besides walking, cycling within the park.

During a briefing, it was apprised that the public library will provide children with play areas and recreational facilities along with study spaces.

Chairman CDA directed that the library design must include all digital and e-library facilities and digital connectivity of the public library with national and international libraries.

Chairman CDA also directed to ensure membership facilities for Islamabad citizens at the public library once it is completed and further directed that library’s construction and amenities must meet with international standards. It was also discussed that an other Museum in Islamabad may also established after due process of law as well as coordination with other public departments including culture and geological survey of Pakistan so that fossil may be brought from abroad accordingly.

During the briefing, Chairman CDA was informed that the public library will have facilities including a digital index, social zone and co-working space.

Similarly, space will be allocated for conference hall to host various events. He was further informed that the public library will have capacity to house over 500,000 books and more upon completion.

Chairman CDA also directed the construction of modern research center and lab facilities in the public library.

The meeting also discussed tourism-related projects including construction of a theme park, Adventure and Safari Park in F-9 Park, as well as state of the art Golf Course with 9 holes will be established. Chairman CDA was further briefed that work is progressing rapidly on upgrading of CDA’s the state-of-the-art nursery as gardenia hub in Islamabad. Accordingly, an App will be developed through which citizens will be able to purchase seeds, plants, trees and flowers of their choice online besides visiting personally to purchase seeds, trees, plants on the spot.
