Islamabad, 27 May 2025: Intense Winds and Hailstorm battered Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and surrounding areas on Tuesday evening, triggering widespread disruption as gusty winds uprooted trees, smashed car windshields, and interrupted electricity in several neighbourhoods.

The abrupt weather shift led to immediate outages in multiple sectors of the capital, adding to public distress during peak evening hours.

This latest wave of Intense Winds and Hailstorm follows similar extreme weather that recently swept through Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leaving a trail of destruction.

Intense Winds and Hailstorm

According to local authorities, the weekend’s violent dust storms and high winds led to at least 14 fatalities and many injuries, mostly from collapsing structures and road accidents.
