Most major roads in Islamabad and Rawalpindi remained blocked for the second consecutive day on Saturday amid a planned protest by a religious party.

Mobile data services also stayed suspended across the twin cities, making it difficult for citizens to access verified updates or find alternative routes. Although Islamabad Police shared a list of diversions earlier, most of those routes were also found to be closed, leaving commuters stranded.

In Islamabad, the Red Zone has been completely sealed, with only Margalla Road open for limited traffic movement. In Rawalpindi, routes leading from Waris Khan, Committee Chowk, Sixth Road, Shamsabad, IJP Road, Rawal Road, Shaheen Chowk, Saddar, and the old airport area have all been shut down.

According to sources, entry points at Faizabad, Khanna Pul, Kuri Road, and Dhoke Kala Khan have been blocked with containers. The road closures have also caused flight delays due to restricted access to Islamabad International Airport.
