It was decided that M-Tags would be made mandatory for all vehicles entering Islamabad, no vehicle allowed entry without one. Additionally, digital parking will be implemented and parking meters will be installed. Parking charges will be higher in congested areas.

The CDA Chairman ordered traffic surveys to monitor daily vehicle entry and exit in the city. He said that the digital parking system has already been launched in Islamabad and will be further improved with a mobile app or online platform, allowing citizens to book parking spaces through cashless transactions.

This will not only save time but also reduce traffic congestion. He added that citizens will be able to use digital parking in various commercial centers and prominent areas of Islamabad, paying parking fees via mobile apps or QR codes. This modern system will help eliminate time wasted in searching for parking spaces and curb illegal parking.

He further said that the CDA One-Window Facilitation Center is introducing a cashless payment system, enabling citizens to pay for services such as parking fees, property and electricity bills through mobile apps, bank cards or QR codes supported by a new digital system.

The CDA Chairman talked about his department’s commitment to transforming Islamabad from a safe city into a smart city. The implementation of M-Tags, digital parking and cashless systems will not only help resolve public parking issues but also improve overall security.
