All educational institutions in Islamabad will remain closed today after authorities decided to suspend academic activities as a precautionary measure.
The step has been taken in response to the evolving security situation across, with officials saying the closure aims to protect students, teachers, and school staff.
It is pertinent to mention here the decision applies to both public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the federal capital.

Officials stated that ensuring the safety of the academic community was their top concern, and institutions have been advised to remain closed until further notice.
In a separate but related move, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced on Wednesday that all educational institutions in the province would also be closed.
Her statement, issued through official channels, explained that the decision was made after an attack that heightened security concerns in several parts of the country.
Provincial authorities described the closure as a necessary step to prevent any risks to students and staff.

They added that the situation was being closely monitored and that updates would be shared as conditions developed.
“Safety comes first,” a provincial representative was quoted as saying. “We understand the impact on education, but protecting lives remains our immediate priority.”
The closures have also led to the postponement of exams scheduled for these days.
Students have been advised to stay in touch with their schools, colleges, and examination boards for new dates and further instructions.
