Islamabad, Feb 27: The Federal Ministry of Education has taken a significant initiative to modernize government educational institutions in Islamabad by introducing Chromebooks. In a recent development, a contract for the supply of 8,000 devices has been awarded through an online bidding process.

According to reliable sources, the online tendering session was conducted at the National Book Foundation, where company representatives participated in the bidding competition. Throughout the process, committee members carefully examined both digital and physical tender documents to ensure transparency. Out of the 11 companies that submitted bids, 10 successfully advanced to the financial evaluation stage. Ultimately, the contract was secured by the firm offering the most competitive bid.

Talat Saeed, a key committee member, confirmed that the Chromebooks are expected to reach educational institutions within two months. He further stressed that stringent quality control measures would be in place to guarantee the delivery of high-performance Chromebooks. The government remains committed to enhancing the digital infrastructure of schools and ensuring students have access to cutting-edge technology for a better learning experience.

This initiative aligns with the broader vision of integrating technology into education, enabling students to develop essential digital skills. By equipping schools with Chromebooks, the Ministry aims to bridge the digital divide and foster an interactive and efficient learning environment.
