Islamabad, 6 May 2025: An important meeting was held at CDA Headquarters Islamabad under the chairmanship of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islam Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
The meeting was attended by Member Admin, Member Engineering, Member Planning, Member Finance, concerned project directors and other senior officers.
The meeting reviewed the pace of work so far in ongoing and new development projects in Islamabad.
The Chairman CDA directed to complete the work on highways, infrastructure and environmental projects of Islamabad within the stipulated time and to maintain high standards, standards and quality.

While briefing the meeting, it was informed that the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass project should be monitored and developed on a daily basis with the help of drone footage and the standard completion of the project is being ensured within a period of 35 days.
The CDA Chairman directed that along with the completion of the project, beautiful soft landscaping and tree plantation should be done and modern and beautiful LED lights should be installed on a regular basis.
Similarly, the meeting was briefed on the expansion of Faizabad Interchange. In this regard, the tender documents are being finalized and the cost estimate has been calculated.
While briefing the meeting, it was informed that 20 important congested places have been identified to further improve the traffic system across the city, while work is underway at 11 of them with traffic congestion, and topographic surveys have also been completed at 9 different places.
The CDA Chairman directed that modern sprinkler systems should be installed on the main highways.
He said that work is underway on establishing underground water storage tanks and planning a proper water grounding system.
The meeting was informed that estimates for the installation of beautiful lights in different sectors of the city have been completed.
Similarly, work is also underway on the uplifting of important highways, which includes repair of these roads, curbstone, lane marking, patchwork, U-turns, signage and road safety measures.
The Chairman CDA directed that the tender process should be completed soon to complete the improvement of the drainage system and the sanitation process before the monsoon.
The meeting also discussed the use of environment-friendly biodegradable packages on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
The meeting was informed that the preparation of estimates is underway from the Motorway Link Road to Margalla Road (N-5), while the survey process has been completed for the Shaheen Chowk project and the services of consultants and resident engineers are being sought for the completion of the project.
While briefing the meeting, it was informed that the admin block under construction in the Model Jail is 85 percent complete, the RCC compound and the boundary wall are 98 percent complete.

Phase 1 of the project will be completed soon while the infrastructure work of Phase 2 is also in full swing.
Furthermore, the meeting was informed that work on the Pakistan Secretariat building and its parking lot is being started soon.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa reiterated the commitment to quality, transparency, timely completion and better facilities to the citizens in all projects.
He said that the vision of CDA is to transform Islamabad into a model city with a combination of modern infrastructure and natural harmony that can become an example of sustainable development.
