Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has launched a special campaign from September 17 to 26 to assist government employees in obtaining valid driving licenses.

An ITP official said that during this period, all employees of government departments would receive full support and services at traffic offices as well as through mobile facilitation vans. After September 26, any government employee caught driving without a valid license will face strict legal action without exception.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun, revealed that ongoing operations against illegal parking in Secretariat Blocks uncovered that many government employees did not possess driving licenses for their vehicles or motorcycles.

“As government employees, accountability must begin with ourselves before we enforce the law on the public,” he remarked. “ITP offices and all related resources will provide maximum assistance for license issuance until September 26.”

The CTO stressed that after the deadline, no government employee, regardless of rank or department, will be exempt from penalties. Vehicles may be impounded, and departmental proceedings could be initiated. He urged all departments and officers to take responsibility and secure their licenses promptly.
