Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has launched work on a model nursery in Islamabad as part of efforts to reduce smog and improve the environment. The project will be one of the biggest nurseries in the capital as it is being developed on 50 acres along Park Road and will house one million saplings.

The minister reviewed the progress of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Model Nursery project, during a visit to the site. He also inspected the master plan and key features including a newly built pond designed to add both beauty and ecological value to the area.

Naqvi said the nursery will also include a flower shop and a training institute for horticulture. He directed CDA officials to ensure proper training for staff on plant care and nursery management.

“The establishment of this nursery is a crucial step in addressing environmental challenges such as smog and urban deforestation.This model nursery will not only contribute to Islamabad’s beauty but also serve as a hub for environmental education and plant conservation.,” he remarked.

The minister also praised the Azerbaijani experts working on the project for their contribution to Islamabad’s green initiative.
