The Excise and Taxation Department has announced that all registered vehicles in Islamabad with unpaid taxes will have their registrations permanently canceled if dues are not cleared by October 10.

According to the department, red notices were issued to vehicle owners with outstanding taxes as of June 30, 2025, and their registrations have already been suspended. If the dues are not paid by the deadline, the registrations will be permanently canceled.

The department also stated that vehicle registration can only be restored after payment of all pending taxes along with hefty fines. Special counters have been set up to facilitate taxpayers.

In addition, the Islamabad Traffic Police will strictly enforce driving license regulations starting October 8. Drivers without valid licenses will be arrested, cases filed, and vehicles confiscated. This order applies equally to both government and private drivers.
