A meeting regarding Capital Emergency Services was held on Friday at the CDA Headquarters, chaired by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

The meeting discussed the upgrading and modernization of Capital Emergency Services in Islamabad.

During the briefing, it was informed that consultation and assistance are being sought from the NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) in this regard, and modern equipment will be provided to further strengthen and upgrade the Capital Emergency Services.

Modern Emergency Operations Center

The meeting was informed that drones, rescue motorbikes, and vehicles will be provided to enhance the performance of Capital Emergency Services. Similarly, a modern Emergency Operations Center will be established to monitor emergency operations and ensure a swift response.

It was further informed that a suitable location has been identified for the establishment of the Emergency Operations Center. The meeting was also briefed that state-of-the-art equipment, particularly the use of drones, will be employed and watchtowers will be established to deal with forest fires.

Chairman CDA said that a modern system for real-time tracking and monitoring will be established in the Emergency Operations Center. He directed that the process of staff recruitment and professional training at the Emergency Services Academy be expedited to further improve the efficiency of rescue operations.

Chairman CDA said that response time should be further improved by integrating trackers in ambulances and linking with private ambulance services in the city. He emphasized the low-cost and swift construction of more sub-stations in Islamabad and said that priority should be given to the use of modern equipment and technology in this regard.

He said that designs for rescue stations should be prepared that are low-cost and located at strategic locations. He said that housing societies should establish rescue stations in their areas to deal with emergencies immediately.

Chairman CDA said that the purpose of all these measures is to improve the quality of emergency services for the protection of citizens in the capital city, Islamabad. He further stated that all available resources will be utilized to equip Capital Emergency Services with modern facilities and equipment.
