Islamabad, June 24, 2025: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued fines to over 10,500 violators in just one week as part of an intensive campaign targeting unsafe driving practices across the capital.
According to ITP officials, the operation was designed to promote road safety, reduce accident risks, and improve compliance with traffic regulations. Enforcement teams took legal action against motorists, bikers, and public transport drivers through surprise checks and city-wide patrols.

Violations & Penalties
- 1,157 vehicles fined for non-standard number plates
- 1,087 motorcyclists fined for riding without helmets
- 3,172 vehicles penalized for illegal parking
- 1,024 motorists fined for driving against traffic
- 1,723 violations recorded for ignoring traffic signals
- 518 drivers fined for not wearing seat belts
- 175 cases of mobile phone use while driving
- 1,599 vehicles and bikes impounded for serious violations
Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Zeeshan emphasized ITP’s ongoing commitment to enforcing traffic laws without bias.
“Everyone on the road must follow rules. These actions are necessary to prevent accidents and promote a culture of responsible driving in Islamabad,” he said.
