Following the directives of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Hamza Humayun, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has intensified its traffic enforcement campaign, releasing the weekly performance report.
According to the report, legal action was taken against 1,585 vehicles and motorcycles, including the impoundment of 1,112 motorbikes and 552 cars for serious violations.
The ITP also issued challans for multiple offenses: 821 lane violations, 114 unlicensed drivers, 2,552 illegal parking cases, and 808 wrong-way driving violations. Moreover, 1,169 signal violations, 998 helmetless riders, 94 unfit vehicles, and fancy number plates were penalized.
A major crackdown was launched against overloaded heavy traffic, resulting in 4,741 challans, while 207 rickshaws faced legal action for entering the restricted capital zone.
For the first time, drone technology was deployed, issuing 60 challans and providing awareness to 45 drivers.
CTO Hamza Humayun directed traffic officials to continue indiscriminate operations under the special campaign, adopting a zero-tolerance policy against underage drivers and unlicensed driving. He further ordered strict action against one-wheelers and stunt bikers.

The CTO appealed to citizens to cooperate with traffic wardens and demonstrate responsibility as law-abiding citizens.
