Islamabad, 2 June, 2025: Seizes Over 2,200 Vehicles  the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have intensified their crackdown on road rule violators as part of a wide ranging effort to restore order on the capital’s streets. The campaign, led by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Capt. (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider, aims to instill a culture of compliance among motorists.

According to official data, more than 2,200 vehicles were taken off the roads in just one week. The action includes 1,633 motorcycles and 633 private and commercial vehicles impounded for defying traffic regulations. In addition, 35 heavy-duty trucks were detained for overloading beyond the legal limit.

Zero Tolerance for Dangerous Driving

“The ITP’s approach is rooted in zero tolerance,” stated CTO Zeeshan Haider. “Our teams are instructed to act impartially and enforce the law across the board. Driving without a license or violating safety protocols will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”

Public Urged to Support Road Safety Efforts

As the campaign continues, the CTO has called on citizens to support the initiative by observing traffic laws and helping authorities maintain safety standards. “A disciplined road culture benefits everyone,” he added, emphasizing the shared responsibility between the police and the public.

The initiative, under which the ITP seizes over 2,200 vehicles, marks one of the largest traffic enforcement drives in the city’s recent history.
