Islamabad, Aug 8: Tight rules for car registration and license plates have been implemented by the Islamabad government. Those cars with extravagant and forbidden license plates will now have their registration cancelled by the traffic police.
The goal of this choice is to guarantee adherence to conventional number plate laws. The administration of Islamabad has released a notification detailing the consequences of non-compliance.
Re-registration fees for automobiles with canceled registrations owing to fancy number plates are dependent on engine capacity and are as follows: Rs. 5,000 for vehicles under 1,000 cc, Rs. 10,000 for vehicles between 1,000 and 2,000 cc, and Rs. 20,000 for vehicles beyond 2,000 cc.The notification further states that a re-registration cost of Rs. 1,000 would be charged for motorcycles. Repeat offenders will be subject to even harsher punishments, with fines rising to five times the original sum.
