Islamabad, Mar 19 2025: Islamabad United have announced the signing of 21-year-old all-rounder Muhammad Shehzad for the upcoming PSL 2025 season.
Shehzad is regarded as one of the most promising young cricketers in Pakistan, with his recent performances in the President’s Trophy garnering attention.
He scored over 700 runs and took 20 wickets, showcasing his versatility and skill under pressure.
The three-time Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions move to sign Shehzad reflects their ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging talent from domestic cricket .
The franchise has a history of providing young players with opportunities to gain valuable experience alongside international stars and top-tier coaches.
Head Coach Mike Hesson expressed his excitement about Shehzad’s inclusion, praising the young cricketer’s all-round abilities.
He emphasized that Islamabad United’s ethos revolves around supporting young talent and Shehzad’s addition strengthens the team’s lineup.
General Manager Rehan-ul-Haq also highlighted Islamabad United’s focus on rewarding consistent domestic performers.
He pointed out that the franchise’s vision, instilled by owner Ali Naqvi, has led to the rise of several players who later represented Pakistan, including Shadab Khan, who started as an emerging player in PSL 2.
The much-anticipated Pakistan Super League is set to begin on April 11, with Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars in the opening match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
