Islamabad is gearing up for a major transformation as the city prepares to host its first-ever seven-star hotel in Islamabad, with construction set to begin by the end of 2025.
Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, confirmed the landmark project, marking a bold step toward elevating the capital’s global appeal.
A New Benchmark in Luxury
Located strategically on Srinagar Highway in Sector G-13, close to the Link Road leading to Islamabad International Airport, the upcoming luxury hotel is poised to become a symbol of opulence and modernity.
The venture will be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, a move aimed at fostering both private investment and public growth.
“This is not just about a hotel. It’s about sending a message that Islamabad is ready to compete with the world’s finest cities,” said Minister Pirzada during the announcement.
A Twin Project for Health and Hospitality
Adding to the ambitious development is a high-tech international hospital, planned for the same location. Both the seven-star hotel in Islamabad and the hospital will be awarded through open auction, overseen by the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA).
In a policy reversal, the FGEHA has now officially approved both initiatives, signaling a shift toward high-value infrastructure investment.
More Projects on the Horizon
This announcement is part of a broader vision to reshape Islamabad’s urban and economic landscape. The FGEHA has allocated 11 additional plots for development through similar PPP ventures. Key upcoming projects include:
- An IT tower and international business hub in G-13
- A world-class shopping mall under the Skyline Project
- An international school in G-14/2
- Residential and commercial complexes across Rawalpindi and Murree
These developments are expected to enhance tourism, boost the local economy, and generate thousands of new jobs.
What This Means for Pakistan
The entry of a seven-star hotel in Islamabad brings Pakistan into a league with global luxury destinations like Dubai and Singapore.
Experts believe such high-profile projects could unlock unprecedented levels of foreign direct investment (FDI) and signal investor confidence in Pakistan’s real estate and tourism sectors.
