The Shaheen Chowk Underpass project in Islamabad has reached its final stage of construction, with officials setting a one-month deadline for completion. Once opened, the underpass is expected to ease heavy traffic and improve road safety at one of the capital’s busiest points.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the site on Friday to check the progress of the project. He expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and directed that round-the-clock construction should continue so the deadline could be met.

“The timely completion of this project is very important to reduce traffic problems faced by citizens, especially during rush hours,” Naqvi said. He added that both speed and quality must be ensured to deliver lasting benefits.

According to the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the underpass will be a modern facility designed to make traffic flow smoother and safer. The CDA Member Engineering briefed the minister during his visit and confirmed that all available resources are being used to finish construction within the given timeframe.
