Authorities have dismissed social media rumors claiming that the words “Islamic Republic” have been removed from Pakistan’s new passport design.
According to official sources, no such change has been made to the passport, and the circulating image suggesting otherwise is fabricated.
Senior journalist Hamid Mir also debunked the false rumor and said that no such change has been made, Mir’s tweet was also shared by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The clarification came after several social media posts falsely claimed that a new version of the Pakistani passport had omitted the phrase “Islamic Republic of Pakistan” from its cover.
Officials confirmed that the current design remains unchanged and advised the public not to believe or share unverified information circulating online.
