This decision was taken during a high-level meeting, held under the chairmanship of Director General LDA Tahir Farooq on IT reforms.

During the meeting, DG Farooq was given a detailed briefing regarding the ongoing digital reforms in the Town Planning Wing, after which he issued instructions to completely eliminate manual notices in all LDA wings.

QR CODE MADE MANDATORY ON ALL NOTICES

DG Farooq also directed that QR codes should be affixed on all LDA notices as soon as possible and only notices with QR codes should be issued in future, so that fake notices and forgery can be completely eliminated.

He added that a complete digital record of illegal constructions, illegal penalties and other notices should be compiled, so that there is a transparent record of every action.

“We are creating an effective system through which strict action will be taken against the elements involved in issuing fake notices and forgery,” he said.

EXPANSION AND EASE OF ONLINE SERVICES

The meeting was also briefed on the software developed for the LDA’s digital monitoring unit. DG LDA said that citizens will now be able to get land use change, amalgamation, subdivision and other services online, which will significantly improve public convenience.

He also directed to develop an online application for the completion certificate process, so that citizens do not have to visit offices.

SIMPLIFICATION OF BUILDING PLAN APPROVAL PROCESS

DG LDA also reviewed the online building plan approval portal and directed that the process be made simpler and user-friendly.
